For more than a decade the producer and steel pan expert Alvin Daniell, the man behind MAJOR&minor Productions, is releasing the annual compilation series “Calypso Compilation”. This collection of Soca and Calypso songs which are arranged especially for steel pan bands is highly anticipated every Spring by bands around the world.
Countless titles of this series have been played at the world’s most important Steel Pan Competition, the Panorama in Port of Spain, Trinidad, some even won titles.
After a break in 2012 (we released a 10 years anniversary Best-Of compilation), the Calypso Compilation is back in 2013 with new songs. Many well-known singers from Trinidad & Tobago are featured: Destra, Black Stalin, Blaxx, Lil Bitts, Denyse Plummer, Eunice Peters and many more.

This year’s compilation is a tribute to the Trinidadian javelin-thrower Keshorn Walcott, who won Gold at Olympic Games 2012, and the steel pan pioneer Bertie Marshall who invented the harmonic tuning of Steelpan notes (1956) and the Double Tenor pan.
